The Netherlands' Health Council examines potential health effects of 5G electromagnetic fields. Due to unknown exposure levels and health impacts, no definitive conclusions on risks can be made, but investigations continue to assess possible adverse effects of 5G frequencies.
5G technology offers greater capacity and faster data rates compared to previous mobile telecommunication generations. Despite these advancements, societal concerns exist regarding the potential health effects of exposure to 5G electromagnetic fields. In response to such concerns, the Dutch Lower House of Parliament requested an advisory opinion from the Health Council of the Netherlands. The Council concluded that it is currently impossible to definitively determine whether exposure to 5G frequencies poses health risks. This uncertainty stems primarily from two factors: the unknown exposure levels at which adverse effects might occur, and the unclear extent of human exposure expected once 5G systems are fully implemented. Consequently, the Council conducted an investigation to identify whether existing scientific evidence indicates that electromagnetic fields at the frequencies intended for 5G deployment have the potential to negatively impact health. The advisory report and related documents provide detailed analyses but ultimately do not confirm any specific health risks associated with 5G exposure. Thus, while 5G technology represents a significant advancement in telecommunications, no conclusive scientific data currently links its electromagnetic exposure to adverse health outcomes.
