Fact Sheets NIR provide scientific information on appliances emitting non-ionising radiation such as UV devices, lasers, microwave ovens, and electromagnetic fields. They address health risks, safety guidelines, legal regulations, and exposure mitigation to ensure informed use and protection.

A baby monitor gives parents the occasional ‘free’ hour. It transmits sounds from the nursery using electromagnetic fields. This fact sheet provides information on the strength of these fields and their potential health effects. It also offers tips on how to reduce exposure to these fields — the best way is to keep a distance. A distance of 50 cm from the crib is already sufficient.
