Fact Sheet induction cooker - FOPH

Fact Sheets NIR provide scientific information on appliances emitting non-ionising radiation such as UV devices, lasers, microwave ovens, and electromagnetic fields. They address health risks, safety guidelines, legal regulations, and exposure mitigation to ensure informed use and protection.

Induction cooktops are the cornerstone of modern, energy-efficient cooking. However, their sometimes strong electromagnetic fields are a drawback. This fact sheet provides information on the strength of these fields and their potential health effects. It recommends using such stoves optimally. To do so, maintain a distance of 15 cm from the stove. When cooking at maximum heat, use the rear section of the stove. Of course, use suitable (and not too small) pans.
